And here is 64 Kingston Road, on a sunny morning in December 2011, about 100 years after the family photos accompanying it. So, the house is on the west side of Kingston Road, and this view is looking generally south west, so that on the left the road goes towards the city centre and Walton Street. There is (or was, I couldn’t really see from the road) a large garden behind the house, and, I recall, a cellar or basement below ground level. William and his wife Elizabeth Archer (nee Gilder) lived here for quite some years from about 1902 to about1919 or so, when they moved to (I think - more research needed) Acacia Lodge, Banbury Road, on coming into some of James Archer’s money. My father, Fred Archer, and his wife Gwen Archer (nee Penfold) lived here for about one year or so in 1938/9, before moving to 386 London Road, Headington, Oxford.
