The hand-written Dutch text “ARCHER TE TWELLO” means “Archer at Twello”. And as a result of input very kindly provided by a visitor to this website, Klaas Jan Sijsling, who speaks with authority on early Dutch aviation, I now know that: "Archer flew at the Molenhei (near Gilze-Rijen, near Breda) in August and September 1910". And “Archer flew at Twello (near Deventer and Apeldoorn) on October 16th and 17th in 1910”. Therefore, as this shot is at Twello, it was clearly taken on October 16th or 17th 1910, and if the latter, it was great uncle Ernest’s last flight. What a shame it all came to an end like that.
