On the left is my grandpa William’s slightly older sister, Bertha Olive, who married Harry Rowe also in 1902, but evidently before William, as she comes to his wedding as Mrs Rowe. She does look slightly forbidding, though that might be explained by the need to stand absolutely still for the photographer in those relatively early days of photography. Olive’s mother (and namesake) Olive Emma Reed Archer is on the right. She is an amazing lady. Mother of ten or more children, and the source of the Archer family’s connection with the high-achieving Reed family. Her father is Edward Reed, also in this wedding group. The Reeds are evidently highly-committed Methodists who caused Alfred George Archer (Olive Emma’s husband) to convert from the Archer’s traditional Church of England faith - though Methodism started as just a branch or modification of the Church of England.
