John Sanders - manuscript notes

So this is Matilda Archer's husband. We don't have a picture of him.

According to the manuscript notes on this authentic-looking ancient family history note carring the inimitable script of my Grandpa William (WGRA), John Sanders lived (perhaps before his marriage to Tilly) at 14 King Edward Street (which is the first street on the south side of High Street, starting from Carfax, and in my school days was more or less opposite the No.2 bus stop (outside the jewellers Lesley Davey & West, where in 1965 Ruth and I bought our engagement ring). Later, John Sanders lived in Pembroke Street. Apparently he was a steward of the infamous Bullingdon Club (see Wikipedia entry below):

The Bullingdon Club is an exclusive all-male dining club for Oxford Universityundergraduates, though it is not officially recognised by that institution. It is noted for its wealthy members, grand banquets, boisterous rituals and destructive behaviour, such as the vandalising ("trashing") of restaurants and students' rooms. Many local outlets refuse to host these events.
