Wallis & Steevens 1903-built tractor

This 1903-built Wallis & Steevens tractor gives, probably, a quite close approximation to the technology that AC & Co acquired in their 1901-built Wallis & Steevens. In other words a simple steam-driven subsitution for the horses that had been used until then for hauling the wagons around in the yard and perhaps for local Oxford removals entirely, and for taking the lift vans to the railway yard for  longer-distance removals. And this does indeed look at least a little like the traction engine seen in the letterhead used in the banner of this website.
