"The Wold's Carriers" May 15th 1936: article on Archer Cowley & Co:

(PBA: I will transcribe this article. Note that it was published in the mid-1930s, three years before the Second World War began in 1939, when trouble in Europe was clearly brewing. WGRA had been in the business since 1919, when James Archer had invited him to take his (James's) place. And 1936 is three years after WGRA has bought-out Messrs Cowley and Rippington from the business in 1933 and achieved sole-control. My father, FGBA had in 1936 been working with his father in the business for ten years since leaving Messrs George Blake & Co, and he (FGBA) married that year. It was the year of the Edward VIIII abdication crisis.)
