Caption reads: “Banquet of the FWRA, 19th and 20th May 1949, at Park Lane Hotel, London.
As ever, it was WGRA who attended such functions, and not his sons. Perhaps they didn’t wish to. So this is 68 years ago as I type this note in 2017. And all these people are long gone.
Perhaps “FWRA” was actually the “NFWRA” the name that I am somehwat familiar with, as the National Federation of Warehousing and Removers Association:” (which sounds a bit tautologous and I haven’t been able to verify it yet via an online search). (15.4.17: [update]: believe should be ‘Warehousemen’ rather than ‘Warehousing’ - see the caption to another item in this scrapbook).
WGRA himself is indicated by his arrow, slightly right of centre at the bottom of the frame. So, in 1949 he was age 22 + 49 = 71 i.e. four years younger than I am now. And I suppose I do (now) look about his age! (then).
