Our one-and-only view of a horse-drawn furniture wagon 'in action'.

This appears to be an authentic action shot of an Archer Cowley household removals job in progress. Not particularly sharp or clear. I intend to do some ‘clarification’ work on this shot as soon as I can, including doing a specific higher-resolution scan on the print only. Meanwhile it can already be seen that we have a road-going wagon similar but not identical to the one of the preceding page, four draft horses and two AC&Co employees tending the horses and generally overseeing the transport process. It seems obvious from the fact that the two employees are walking alongside the wagon and horses, that the road-speed is necessarily limited to walking speed. Possibly the steam traction engine that replaced the horses in due course (but not for very long before it was itself replaced by the petrol engined lorry), was able to travel slightly-faster, but not much faster.
