This may be the only photo in existence (or anyway, available to me) giving some idea of the massive rear garden (on the east side of the property - furthest from Banbury Road) where William Greenaway used to thunder up and down with the Sturmey-Archer-engined Ransomes 14 (yes, only 14) inch cylinder mower. The summerhouse (a massive non-wooden structure) was behind the photographer in this view, and the large soft-fruit cage was to the left in this view. The steps seen just to the right of the second tree from the left in the front row of trees lead through to the front garden region of the plot. Recollection of things last seen 60 or more years ago is notoriously unreliable, but my impression is that this view is of only about a quarter of the rear garden, at most, being about mid point of that garden, width-wise and length-wise.
